When it comes to compact concealed carry pistols, the Taurus GX4 Carry has made an impressive entrance as Taurus’ first-ever compact 9mm pistol. In this article, I’ll share my experience with the GX4 Carry, compare it to two other similarly sized pistols—the Glock 43X and the Sig Sauer P365 XL Comp (Rose)—and highlight its features, performance, and value.

First Impressions
I first got my hands on the Taurus GX4 Carry at Range Ready, and it left a strong impression. It’s well-designed, ergonomic, and compact enough to carry comfortably while still offering excellent performance and capacity.
Concealability
The GX4 Carry strikes a perfect balance between concealability and functionality. Its compact size makes it easy to carry discreetly while maintaining the grip length and capacity to shoot comfortably and confidently. Whether in a waistband holster or a hybrid setup like the Phlster Enigma, it’s a reliable option for everyday carry.
Out-of-the-Box Features and Accessories
The Taurus GX4 Carry comes with two 11-round magazines, which is impressive for its price point. Additionally, the market is quickly developing accessories for the GX4 Carry, including holsters like the Phlster Enigma, allowing for easy customization and versatility.
Optics-Ready Performance
The GX4 Carry features Taurus’ Optics Ready Option (TORO), providing flexibility for shooters who prefer a red-dot sight. After putting over 500 rounds through the pistol, I found its performance to be excellent, with its ergonomic grip and indexing pad enhancing control and recoil management.
I paired it with the Bushnell RX Micro Reflex Sight (6 MOA), an affordable red-dot option with great durability and battery life. During testing, I found it comparable to higher-end optics such as:
Holosun EPS Carry: Known for its multiple reticle options, solar backup, and Shake Awake technology.
Sig Sauer ROMEO-X: Offers MOTAC activation and excellent visibility in both day and night conditions.

Taurus GX4 Carry: Affordable, ergonomic, and high-capacity, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious buyers seeking a compact carry option.
Glock 43X: A reliable and slim option for concealed carry enthusiasts who value simplicity and ease of use.
Sig Sauer P365 XL Comp: Premium features and optics-ready out of the box, perfect for those seeking a higher-end compact pistol. This is the overall slimmest concealment option.
For anyone seeking a compact pistol at a budget-friendly price, the Taurus GX4 Carry is a fantastic option. Its ergonomic grip, indexing pad, and flat trigger deliver a comfortable shooting experience, while its optics-ready feature allows for easy customization. Compared to the Glock 43X and Sig P365 XL Comp, the GX4 Carry offers exceptional value without compromising on performance.
